PrettyOldGamers is a lightly modded Vanilla++ DayZ server for people who’ve been playing games long enough to know that the panic-shoot is rarely the fun option. The base experience is preserved — the cold, the wolves, the broken legs — with a handful of quality-of-life mods on top.
We’re a community first and a server second. If you like the idea of running into another survivor and talking instead of immediately tapping fire, you’re in the right place.
Everything else is just DayZ. These two cover 99% of what makes a community server worth logging into.
Kill-on-sight is not the play here.
Value your own life and play accordingly. Initiate, communicate, give people a chance to respond. If your first instinct is to empty a magazine into every silhouette you see, this server is going to feel slow — and you’re going to feel unwelcome.
Be nice. Talk to people. Make stories, not enemies.
The best DayZ moments come from interaction, not extermination. Use your mic. Roleplay a little. Trade, help, betray dramatically if you must — but make it memorable for the other player too, not just yourself.
